Calmpaw started because of Bear — a rescue Frenchie who paced the kitchen whenever we put on shoes. We tried daycare, training, calming chews. Nothing settled him.

What if my dog doesn't lick the mat?

Most dogs figure it out in the first session. For the rare exception: try frozen banana the first time — the cold + sweet draws them in. After one session they'll know what it is.

Will the lick mat actually stay stuck to the wall?

Yes on flat smooth surfaces — tile, glass, smooth crate doors. On rough surfaces use it flat on the ground.

Is silicone safe for dogs?

Food-grade silicone is the same material as baby teethers and silicone baking molds. Heat-stable, dishwasher-safe, no BPA. The mat is a feeder, not a chew toy.

How does the snuffle mat work?

Hide kibble or treats in the fabric strands. Your dog noseworks to find them — engaging problem-solving and foraging instincts. 10 minutes of snuffling is mentally equivalent to a 30-minute walk.

Will a slow feeder really help with bloat?

For fast eaters (big breeds especially), yes. Slowing meal speed reduces air intake — the biggest controllable bloat risk factor. We can't promise it prevents bloat (that's a vet conversation) but slowing the meal helps.

Yes, from 8 weeks. The lick mat is great for crate training and reducing whining at night. Always supervise puppy sessions for the first few weeks.
